Types of Assistance

White County Caring & Sharing (WCCS) provides assistance with housing, utilities, fuel, and other items on a case-by-case basis. WCCS does NOT provide assistance with any type of deposits, phone bills, cable TV, Internet, or any other non-essential items.

Who Can Apply?

To apply for assistance, you must:

  • Be a resident of White County, Georgia for the past 3 months.

  • Have not received assistance from WCCS at any time during the past 6 months.

  • Have not received assistance from WCCS more than 3 times.

How to Apply

Applications for assistance normally are taken the middle and end of each month. Be prepared to provide ID and bill as requested. For assistance with rent, a conversation between our volunteer and the landlord and/or a completed landlord form may be requested.

Your application will be reviewed by a committee, and a decision about assistance will be made based upon the availability of funds and individual needs. You will be contacted by phone or email by a volunteer. Because WCCS is staffed by volunteers, a response may take several days. WCCS issues checks to the appropriate company or individual. No cash is given out.
